He told me

He told me he is weak inside,
Fragile as a butterfly wing;
He told me he is numb outside,
Thick-skinned so he believes only in flings.
He told me he's been hurt too many times,
And made his ego his pride.
He told me he will heal himself for years to come,
Be his own guide.
He staged a beautiful aura to the world,
Died within with every word;
He was applauded at every step,
His wounds healed at all depths;
But he had become an actor of life...
A slave of his own pride!
He met a woman,
Just like him...
Aching, detached, self - centred, show biz addict,
They fooled the world together,
But she fell and hit the clear...
"Do you love me?", she asked
He took off his mask.
She ran as if she had seen an ugly - damaged, bleeding and angry wolf.
He wouldn't stop personifying...
I lit a scented candle with a smile,
Saying goodbye to all his lies.
